The NutriNest Marketing Lab is an engaging and interactive activity designed to teach high school students the fundamentals of the 4 Ps of Marketing—Product, Price, Place, and Promotion. In this lab, students take on the role of marketing managers tasked with turning around NutriNest (by generating a profit of $20,000 in 3 months), a snack company struggling to increase profitability.

- Match NutriNest’s products to the needs of five distinct customer segments.
- Determine the best product mix to maximize appeal and profitability.
- Optimize Pricing:
- Use demand and profit curves to set optimal prices for each snack product.
- Explore the concept of marginal profit and its impact on pricing decisions.
- Allocate Sales Channels:
- Decide how to distribute products across various sales channels, balancing customer preferences and commission costs.
- Distribute Promotion Budget:
- Strategically allocate a $10,000 promotion budget across different strategies, using diminishing returns and marginal benefit to guide decisions.
- Evaluate Results:
- Review sales results after a simulated three-month period.
- Reflect on the success of their strategy and compare results with peers on a leaderboard.
